Uploading our film trailer

Unfortunately, Me, Amba and Jade had problems when it came to upload our film trailer. Any waiting for several hours for it to be upload to our blogs it did not do anything.
Thereofore, we have decided to burn the trailer onto a CD so it can be viewed that way instead.

Our film trailer

Me, Jade and Amba are now editing our trailer. We wanted to wait to shoot in the dark and when it was not raining to create greater suspense and fear throughout our trailer, however we did have to put filming on hold for a while due to bad weather conditions. We have now finished editing the majority of our tailer but we want to ask some people for some feedback so we could be sure that it is suitable for our age group.
While editing our footage we came across a number of difficulties such as finding suitable music without the problem of copyright. The music available to us we found was extremely dull and limited. We then decided to have a quiet noise in the background to create suspension rather than music. We firstly used a piece of music which was fast paced and eerie, but however after gaining audience feedback we decided to put this at the end of our trailer which builds up a dramatic impact and instead used a more subtle tune at the start to keep it simple and ease you into the trailer.

Another problem we came across was getting each clip to run into each other smoothly and easily. This required us to do a lot of cropping and changing for quicker clips which made it ore fast past and exciting for the audience which is what we wanted to achieve.

In our earlier research of analysing film trailers we came across a number of factors which we also wanted to appear in our film trailer. This included credits at the end, more snappy words and phrases which informs the audience more about what is going on and hightens the scary element. However one problem we came across when adding the titles was that we was not able to add them over the top of clips in the trailer so had to make individual slides.

Original image for website

This is the original image which I am using for my horror website.
I am now going to edit it on Photoshop to create a more sinister effect to the image.

First idea for my website

This is one idea of my website for 'PLAY'. After gaining feedback from my class I am able to improve and make changes to this website.
From my audience feedback I found out that:
I could make the image more sinister to highlight the horror genre
I need to make the boxes around the links more clear and noticable
The title 'PLAY' needs to be a brighter colour or placed in a more obvious spot to attract audiences.

Website: Idea Three

Website: Idea Two

Website - Idea One

What I do not find effective:
The image of the play button is not very frightening. Even though this image links in with the title 'PLAY' it does not promote that the film is a horror.
The links are not particularly clear, even though they are underlined they are still not completly eye-catching.
I feel the layout is not very interesting and I could make it much more exciting.
I am now going to design and make my website for our film 'PLAY'. I have drawn out three different ideas of how my website could be layed out and what images I could use.
From my research of analysing real horror film websites earlier on in my coursework, i was able to gain ideas and information about what the websites contain.

My horror poster

Final Image

After taking copious images for my horror poster, I have finally decided to use this image to create my poster.
The reason I decided on this one was becuase it has a sinister feel and I find the path leading into darkness extremly effective.
I will now use photoshop to make my poster and edit this image.
Due to unforseen circumstances Jade Payne is now part of our group. As Jade's partner has left school the work load is too much for her to carry on working alone. Having a third member in our group is highly benefical to us as we have an extra person throughout the film trailer process.
